Terms and Conditions

Your Terms and Conditions section is like a contract between you and your customers. You make information and services available to your customers, and your customers must follow your rules.


These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the services provided by Anything With Wires ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), owned and operated by Ben Boehm, specializing in network and audio/visual (A/V) installations. By engaging our services, you ("Client," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Anything With Wires offers professional installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of:

- Wired and wireless network systems (residential and commercial)

- Audio/Visual systems including TVs, projectors, speakers, and smart home integration

- Structured cabling and low-voltage wiring

- Equipment mounting and system optimization

2. Estimates and Pricing

- All estimates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

- Final pricing may vary based on site conditions, client requests, or unforeseen complications.

- Any additional work not included in the original estimate will be billed separately upon client approval.

3. Payment Terms

- A deposit may be required prior to scheduling service.

- Full payment is due upon completion of the job unless otherwise agreed in writing.

- Accepted payment methods include cash, check, and electronic transfer (e.g., Zelle, Venmo, etc.).

- Late payments may incur a fee of 1.5% per month or the maximum allowed by law.

4. Scheduling and Access

- Clients are responsible for ensuring access to the job site at the scheduled time.

- Missed appointments without 24-hour notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

- Work areas must be safe, accessible, and free of obstructions.

5. Equipment and Materials

- Clients may supply their own equipment, but Anything With Wires is not responsible for compatibility or performance issues.

- Any equipment or materials provided by the Company remain the property of the Company until paid in full.

6. Warranty and Liability

- Installation workmanship is warranted for 90 days from the date of service.

- Manufacturer warranties apply to all new equipment provided by the Company.

- The Company is not liable for damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modifications, or pre-existing conditions.

- In no event shall the Company be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may result in a fee.

- Refunds for equipment are subject to manufacturer return policies and restocking fees.

8. Client Responsibilities

- Ensure all necessary permissions, permits, or HOA approvals are obtained before work begins.

- Notify the Company of any known hazards, structural issues, or special requirements.

9. Privacy and Data

- Any personal or network information shared with the Company will be treated with confidentiality and used solely for service delivery.

- The Company does not store or share client data without explicit consent.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts located in Lake County, IL.

11. Recurring Maintenance Plans

- Clients may opt into a recurring maintenance plan for ongoing support, system checks, and performance optimization.

- Maintenance plans may include periodic visits, priority scheduling, firmware updates, and remote troubleshooting (where applicable).

- Plan details, pricing, and service frequency will be outlined in a separate agreement.

- Either party may cancel the maintenance plan with 30 days’ written notice. No refunds will be issued for unused portions of a billing cycle unless otherwise agreed.

12. Smart Home Integration Disclaimer

- Anything With Wires provides installation and configuration of smart home devices (e.g., thermostats, cameras, lighting, voice assistants) but is not responsible for third-party software updates, outages, or manufacturer limitations.

- The Company does not guarantee compatibility between all smart home platforms or devices unless explicitly stated in writing.

- Clients are responsible for maintaining secure passwords and network access credentials. The Company is not liable for security breaches or unauthorized access resulting from client mismanagement.

- Some smart home features may require ongoing subscriptions or cloud services not included in installation fees.

Payment Terms

These Payment Terms govern all transactions between the Client and Anything With Wires ("Company"), owned and operated by Ben Boehm, for services related to network and audio/visual (A/V) installations.

1. Estimates and Invoicing

  • All quotes and estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
  • Final invoices will reflect actual time, materials, and any approved changes to the original scope of work.
  • Invoices are issued upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Deposit Requirements

  • A 50% deposit may be required to secure scheduling and initiate procurement of materials or equipment.
  • Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has commenced.

3. Payment Due Dates

  • Full payment is due upon completion of the project unless otherwise specified in writing.
  • For projects exceeding $5,000, milestone payments may be scheduled and outlined in the service agreement.
  • Accepted payment methods include:
  • Cash
  • Check (payable to "Anything With Wires")
  • Zelle, Venmo, or other approved electronic transfer platforms

4. Late Payments

  • Payments not received within 7 calendar days of the invoice date are considered late.
  • A late fee of 1.5% per month (or the maximum allowed by law) will be applied to all overdue balances.
  • Continued non-payment may result in suspension of services and/or legal collection efforts.

5. Returned Payments

  • A $35 fee will be charged for any returned checks or failed electronic payments.
  • Future payments may be required in certified funds if a payment is returned.

6. Equipment Ownership

  • All equipment and materials provided by the Company remain the property of Anything With Wires until paid in full.
  • The Company reserves the right to remove or disable unpaid equipment after reasonable notice.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment may incur a $100 cancellation fee.
  • Refunds for equipment are subject to manufacturer return policies and may include restocking fees.
  • Labor charges are non-refundable once services have been rendered.

8. Disputes

  • Any billing disputes must be submitted in writing within 5 business days of the invoice date.
  • The Company will work in good faith to resolve disputes promptly and fairly.
